Master of Arts in Education

The Master of Arts in Education degree at the University of Mobile offers graduate programs leading to Class A certification in Early Childhood Education and/or Elementary Education. Students may choose to combine the Early Childhood and Elementary Education programs for dual certification. Current B level teacher certification in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or both is required to participate in the traditional MA in Education.

The Master of Arts in Education is offered online (1 semester = 16 weeks). This program provides you with:

  • Easy access to faculty members with small class sizes.
This master’s degree is designed for students who hold a current B level teacher certification in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or both. The GRE or MAT entrance exam is NOT required.
To be eligible to apply for this Master’s Degree the following is required:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree from a Regionally or Nationally accredited institution (required when applying to UM)
  2. Bachelor’s Degree posted transcript GPA must be a 2.75 or higher (required when applying to UM)
  3. TWO (2) Official Transcripts from ALL institutions attended (required before end of 1st semester)
To be Unconditionally Admitted to the School of Education Master’s program the following must be completed:
  1. Fingerprint Clearance (required 1st Semester and before observing in any classroom)
  2. Purchase Graduate Teacher Education Handbook from the UM Bookstore (required 1st semester)
