Assistant Professor of Education

The University of Mobile invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Education.  Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience.  The candidate will exemplify a strong Christian faith and exhibit a commitment to the University’s mission and core values.  The assistant professor will report directly to the Dean of the School of Education and will be expected to:

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Education, beginning Fall 2022;
  2. Supervise 3 to 6 student interns during fall and spring semesters;
  3. Advise and mentor students;
  4. Assist with the preparation of assessment documents;
  5. Serve on University committees;
  6. Post and keep office hours each academic period;
  7. Attend all University faculty meetings and required workshops;
  8. Attend all department and college/school faculty meetings;
  9. Assist with the recruitment, registration, and orientation of students;
  10. Submit syllabi, credit hour forms, textbook orders, and grades according to scheduled due dates;
  11. Attend and support University activities when possible;
  12. Attend mandated University activities, including but not limited to, commencement ceremonies;
  13. Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the School of Education and/or the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Preferred credentials: A doctoral or specialist degree in a field of education from a regionally accredited institution is required (doctoral degree preferred).  A review of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
