Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and as needed
Job Description: The Dean of the Grace Pilot School of Business leads all aspects of the School. This includes oversight of budgeting, administration, staffing, faculty recruitment and development, curricula development and assessment, academic performance, enrollment, accreditation, and advancement strategies.

- Terminal degree in an applicable field
- Clear alignment with University of Mobile vision and values
- Demonstrated higher education leadership ability in and out of the classroom
- Experience designing academic programs
- Demonstrated ability to build community partnerships
- Experience in developing external funding opportunities
- Experience in recruiting and retaining students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the Imago Dei of Christ (Gen 1:26) in all aspects of this professional role, in personal interactions, and in community relations
- Ensures integration of Christian Worldview into each academic discipline within the School
- Produces monthly activity reports for UM’s Senior Leadership Team review
- Participates as a member of UM’s President’s Cabinet and Leadership Project
- Serves as a voting member of UM’s Academic Affairs Committee as well as on other University Committees as assigned
- Serves on UM’s Enrollment Taskforce, leading growth and sustainability of the School by engaging in recruitment/advancement activities and in strategic planning
- Coordinates, develops, and promotes academic programming in multiple modalities (online and in person) in collaboration with School faculty.
- Makes recommendations for personnel changes within the School to the Office for Academic Affairs
- Teaches in his or her area of academic qualification
- Stimulates ways and means for the improvement of instruction within the School
- Coordinates the implementation of student learning outcome plans for the School’s degree programs and prepares annual reports providing associated results and demonstrating use of results for specific improvements
- Coordinates and implements the Unit Strategic Plan for the School and identifies improvements that have resulted from each annual evaluation of the plan in the annual report
- Promotes development of each School faculty member’s special talents and interests and fosters good teaching within the School
- Encourages faculty members to participate in local, state, regional, and national professional meetings and activities
- Promotes the representation of the Grace Pilot School of Business at meetings of learned and professional societies
- Oversees specialized accreditation compliance and ensures alignment with SACSCOC standards and best practices
- Oversees external relations aspects of the School
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Provost/Vice President for Academic Administration
