Work Schedule: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm M-Th, flexible hours for events in the evenings and on weekends.
Job Description:
Position Qualifications (Educational credentials, skills and abilities):
- Christian who is an active member in local church.
- Supports Statement of Christian Affirmation (https://umobile.edu/about/mission/)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Production Technology, Communications, or related field.
- Professional experience in photography, videography, video production and editing.
- Strong knowledge of camera operation, lighting, audio capture and post-production workflows.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premier Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom. Experience with After Effects is a plus.
- Excellent storytelling skills and the ability to identify compelling visual narratives.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and others.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the Imago Dei of Christ (Gen 1:26) in all aspects of one’s professional role, personal interactions and community relations.
- Capture and produce high-quality photography and video content that advances the university’s marketing and communication goals.
- Identify and develop visual storytelling opportunities that highlight the University of Mobile experience.
- Conduct interviews with students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners to capture authentic and compelling stories.
- Gather b-roll footage and photography across campus and at university events.
- Plan, execute, edit and organize photography projects for print, digital, social media, advertising, publications and web use.
- Product lifestyle, event, academic and promotional photography.
- Maintain and organize digital photography assets according to university standards.
- Assist with all phases of video production, including concept development, storyboarding, location scouting, filming, interviewing, editing and delivery.
- Capture and manage audio, lighting, camera operation and on-camera talent direction during productions.
- Edit videos for social media, digital advertising, website content, television broadcast, recruitment campaigns and special projects.
- Perform post-production tasks including color correction, audio mixing, graphics integration, motion graphics and final delivery.
- Work closely with the AVP for Creative Services, Director of University Communications and Vice President for Marketing and Communications to execute creative projects from conception to completion.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas that strengthen university marketing initiatives.
- Assist with identifying interview subjects, developing interview questions, creating storyboards and supporting campaign development.
- Transport, set up and operate photography, video, audio and lighting equipment.
- Scout locations and identify creative solutions for production challenges.
- Demonstrate professionalism, initiative and a commitment to excellence in all interactions.
- Helps sustain and elevate the creative vision of the UM brand.
