Job Description:
The Student Life Coordinator serves a dual role within the Office of Student Life by providing leadership in our residence halls while fostering student engagement through intramural sports, fitness, and campus wellness initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating a vibrant residential community, mentoring student leaders, promoting holistic student development, and creating opportunities that encourage physical, social, and spiritual well-being. The Student Life Coordinator of Campus Health and Wellness works collaboratively with Student Life staff to support the university’s mission and contribute to a Christ-centered campus community.
Primary Responsibilities
Area Coordinator:
- Provide leadership and oversight for an assigned residence hall (Mark Foley Hall).
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop the Resident Assistant (RA) staff assigned to the residence hall.
- Conduct weekly planning, leadership development, and discipleship meetings with Resident Assistants.
- Guide Resident Assistants in planning and implementing engaging educational, social, and spiritual residence hall programs.
- Build meaningful relationships with residential students through regular interaction, mentoring, and presence within the residence hall and campus community.
- Address student concerns, conflicts, and conduct issues in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Respond to housing-related inquiries and assist students throughout the housing application, room selection, and assignment processes.
- Coordinate and facilitate residence hall room changes between academic semesters.
- Participate in the Student Life emergency on-call rotation and respond to after-hours student emergencies.
- Maintain appropriate residence hall records, reports, and documentation.
- Assist the Director of Housing, Dean of Students, and Student Life Office with departmental initiatives and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist in any office tasks as needed from the Director of Housing or Director of Student Life.
Intramurals, Recreation, and Campus Wellness:
- Plan, organize, schedule, and administer intramural sports leagues, tournaments, and special events throughout the academic year.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop the Intramural Graduate Assistant, interns, officials, and student workers.
- Coordinate game schedules, officials, equipment, facility reservations, and event logistics.
- Maintain the intramural field and coordinate routine upkeep to ensure safe and functional playing conditions.
- Oversee the operation and general maintenance of campus recreational facilities, including:
- Campus Fitness Center
- Campus Pool
- Recreation Court
- Faulkner Workout Room
- Develop and implement fitness classes, wellness programming, and recreational opportunities that promote healthy lifestyles among students.
- Coordinate and oversee the university’s weekly Run Club, including workouts, training opportunities, and special events.
- Promote participation in intramural sports and wellness initiatives through effective marketing and student engagement.
- Ensure compliance with risk management procedures and promote participant safety during all recreational activities.”
Position Qualifications (Educational credentials, skills and abilities):
- Christian who is an active member in local church.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with college student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills
- Committed to Christian philosophy, mission of the institution and statement of Christian Affirmation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Enthusiastic and energetic personality
