Focus Friday Plan: A Day in the Park and Downtown

Amber Kelley Experience

Fridays are important here at University of Mobile because we get Fridays off! We love our Focus Fridays!

For the month of April, I am making potential schedules of how you can spend your Focus Friday. Current students, you can use this right now! Potential students, this is how you COULD be using your Fridays if you choose UM.

This Friday, join the Student Life Office for Chickasabogue Park Day and then head downtown to enjoy a Mobile classic, LODA Art Walk!

10 a.m. – Go to Chickasabogue Park! Come out to enjoy the park, yard games, snacks and drinks. University of Mobile’s 880-acre campus is bordered by Chickasabogue Park, making it easy to spend the day canoeing, relaxing on the creek bank, mountain biking or hiking.

3 p.m. – Grab some coffee! Mobile has many unique coffee shops to choose from. Head over to Cooper Riverside Park in downtown Mobile. Bring a Frisbee, football or a blanket to just hang out and watch the ship traffic on Mobile’s international port.

5 p.m. – Choose a place to eat dinner downtown. Your options include delicious burgers, great Italian or authentic Mexican food, along with amazing southern cuisine and fresh seafood.

6-9 p.m. – Stay downtown for LODA Art Walk and explore this free monthly showcase of visual and performance arts. Click here for more information about LODA Art Walk.
