Cottage Hill Baptist Church Lead Pastor, UM Alumnus Dr. Alan Floyd to Speak at Fall Graduation

MOBILE, Ala. –Cottage Hill Baptist Church lead pastor and University of Mobile alumnus Dr. Alan Floyd will deliver the commencement address at University of Mobile’s fall graduation on Saturday, Dec. 14, as approximately 120 graduates receive diplomas.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at Cottage Hill Baptist Church, 4255 Cottage Hill Rd., Mobile, Alabama 36609. It will be live streamed on the University of Mobile Facebook page and at umobile.edu/graduation.

Floyd graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in religion from UM in 1989. Floyd and his wife, Kathy, have two sons, Christopher and Conner. Christopher graduated from UM and Conner currently attends UM.

After Floyd graduated from UM, he earned his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Floyd became pastor of Cottage Hill Baptist Church in November of 2012. Since that time, Cottage Hill has baptized over 750 people and has doubled in attendance, averaging over 1,600 people in Sunday morning worship. They have launched two additional campuses, Church of the Island on Dauphin Island and Downtown Church in downtown Mobile.

Floyd is a gifted communicator of the gospel. His messages are consistently relevant to today’s needs and true to the word of God. In addition to being a frequent guest speaker for evangelism conferences and revivals, he consults with churches and non-profit organizations on revitalization.
