MOBILE, Ala. – The Gulf Coast Steinway Society presents the fifth year celebration of the winners concerto concert with the Gulf Coast Steinway Society orchestra, a group of professional musicians and students in the Alabama School of the Arts at the University of Mobile.
Those performing in the concert are the winners of the Gulf Coast Steinway Society competition that was held earlier this year in January. The performers for the evening are Eugenie Lim; Raymond Hou; Yolanda Ni; Gabriella Loicano, UM graduate of 2019; Rebekah Willard; Christopher Conder; Erina Bucholz; Savannah Howard; Sophia Zhu and Schaizec Chi.
The concert will be held Sept. 8 at 2:30 pm., at Murphy High School Auditorium, 100 South Carlen Street, Mobile, Alabama.
Tickets are available at the door before the concert. Student tickets are $6 and general admission is $11.
The orchestra will be under the direction of Dr. Claire Fox Hillard of the Albany Symphony Orchestra.
The Gulf Coast Steinway Society is a non-profit organization formed by the University of Mobile director of piano studies and professor of music, Dr. Kadisha Onalbayeva, and others individuals united in their devotion to promote fine music through education and performance.
The Gulf Coast Steinway Society has awarded 122 music scholarships to competition winners. The next Gulf Coast Steinway Society Competition will be held Jan. 18, 2020, at the University of Mobile.
