MOBILE, Ala. – University of Mobile has been accepted as a member of the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities.
University of Mobile President Timothy L. Smith said IABCU membership will enhance the Baptist university’s Great Commission focus by strengthening the university’s partnership with sister institutions and providing increased opportunities to collaborate.
“We look forward to partnering with the other Baptist higher educational institutions in preparing students through a Christian worldview to fulfill their Great Commission calling,” Smith said.
The IABCU is an organization of 41 colleges, universities and schools that lay claim to their Baptist history, heritage and relationships. The association fosters intentional Christian education, while cooperating in the mutual well-being of each member.
University of Mobile was founded in 1961 by Alabama Baptists and is affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention.
