University of Mobile Summer Music Camp for Grades 3-8 Accepting Applications

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile Summer Music Camp will be held July 15-19 for rising third through eighth grade students. The camp is open to any child interested in learning and growing in music, singing, playing an instrument, and acting.

The music day camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon Monday through Thursday. Friday music camp begins at 8:30 a.m. and continues all day, with a Finale Showcase set for 6 p.m. Summer Music Camp will be held on the University of Mobile campus in north Mobile County, 5735 College Pkwy.

Cost is $150 for the first child in the family, and $75 for each additional child. Students may choose to add on private lessons in the afternoon for an additional $100 that includes four 30-minute private lessons.

Applications are due by July 8. Apply online at umobile.edu/summercamp.

A morning snack will be provided, and campers will be released in time for lunch each day. Students who are taking private lessons in the afternoon may bring a sack lunch from home or purchase one through the university.

Summer Music Camp will be led by local music instructors as well as graduates and staff from the Alabama School of the Arts at University of Mobile.

“Students will have the opportunity to learn and grow in music through choral classes, instrumental classes, fun music theory and theatre,” said camp director Alison Wilks in the Alabama School of the Arts at University of Mobile.
