VICE PRESIDENT FOR MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS
Lesa has over 25 years experience in marketing and public relations including the high-tech industry, retail marketing and higher education. Numerous local and national advertising, PR and design awards have been achieved under her direction. Lesa received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of South Alabama and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Mobile. She enjoyed a successful career as Director of Marketing Communications at Xante Corporation before joining the UMobile staff in 2002. She serves as Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations as well as instructor in marketing at UM, and is a member of the American Marketing Association, Public Relations Council of Alabama and Baptist Communicators Association. Lesa lives in Mobile with her husband and high school sweetheart, Jay. They have two children, UM graduate Logan and current UM student Olivia. She is an active member and volunteer at Cottage Hill Baptist Church.
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FOR UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATIONS
Kathy is an award-winning public relations professional and former journalist with a strong background in strategic communications, feature writing/story-telling, copywriting and editing. She joined the University of Mobile staff in 1993 and has earned awards for writing, public relations and advertising, including twice receiving the grand prize for feature writing from the Baptist Communicators Association. She serves on the board of the John M. Will Scholarship Foundation, awarding scholarships to promising student journalists; and is a member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama, Baptist Communicators Association and Society of Professional Journalists. Kathy lives in Daphne with her husband, Chuck, who earned his M.B.A. from University of Mobile. They have two children and two grandchildren.
HEATH VESTER ’16
Heath Vester is an experienced graphic designer and serves as creative director for University of Mobile’s Office of Marketing & Public Relations. He is an alumnus of University of Mobile, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art. Beyond his role at the university, Heath is the co-founder and senior designer for Bellum Magazine & Creative Group. Additionally, he serves as the vice president of the Mobile chapter of AIGA, a national graphic design organization.
PROJECT MANAGER/MARKETING LIAISON
As project manager, Shannon coordinates and manages the production flow in the Marketing & Public Relations department, assuring that deadlines are met in all areas of print, email and web jobs. She is the liaison between Marketing and committees handling various university events and initiatives. Shannon also assists with advertising and is responsible for ordering all of the speciality items for the university. A graduate of the University of South Alabama, she joined the UM staff in 2011 and is a member of the Baptist Communicators Association. She has served in various leadership positions in the Young Women’s Civic Club and is Head Advisor for the 2019-2020 Mobile Azalea Trail Maids. She also works with the Mobile Jaycees on the Azalea Trail Golf Tournament Committee and is a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church.
Amanda is a multi-talented graphic designer who has worked in printing, technology, fashion and higher education. She has extensive experience in print media, pre-press, web design, web marketing, illustration and art direction. An award-winning designer, Amanda is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and is a member of the national graphic design association AIGA and Baptist Communicators Association. Through her successful freelance business, Alabama Marmalade, she donates design work to local non-profits. Amanda volunteers with the Mobile Police Department Mounted Auxiliary and serves at Sonrise Baptist Church, where her husband, Matt, is worship pastor.

Katie West is photographer and videographer for University of Mobile. She will graduate in December 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Worship Technology. Over the years, she has worked with a variety of churches and business across the south east. She believes that everyone has a story worth telling and is passionate about capturing and telling those stories.

DIGITAL MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
Andrew Felts is the digital marketing and social media specialist University of Mobile. He graduated in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in communication and a double minor in graphic design and history. He served as a University of Mobile Ambassador for three years while serving as president of the organization during his second year. Andrew is very connected in the Mobile community and serves on the American Cancer Society South Region Junior Leadership Council, serves as a member at-large for the Mobile Jaycees working closely with the Azalea Trail maids, the Krewe of Kindness Board of Directors, and as an I Am Mobile! tourism ambassador.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Zac Douglas is the marketing communications specialist for the University of Mobile. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in integrated marketing and communications. As marketing communications specialist, Zac is responsible for writing and strategizing content about the university, assisting with media relations, and handling other marketing and communications projects. He is an active member at Cottage Hill Baptist Church and enjoys spending his time surfing, skating and climbing.

ASSISTANT TO THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS
Cindy is assistant to the vice president for marketing and public relations. In addition to serving as office manager, she coordinates a variety of public relations and outreach initiatives for the marketing/public relations office. She is a member of the University of Mobile Sunshine Club that assists with faculty/staff event planning and decorating. Cindy is married to John, a CRNA who is a graduate of the UM School of Nursing, as are all of their children and a daughter-in-law.
