Small Ensembles

The Alabama School of the Arts is proud to offer our students the opportunity to travel with a wide variety of small ensembles. Our ensembles use the talents of instrumentalists and vocalists and regularly travel throughout the Southeast, spreading the gospel through song. Small Ensemble Auditions are by invitation only. These will take place through video submission and instructions will be provided within the invitation to audition for our small ensembles.

Audition requirements for Small Ensembles reflect the same requirements of all Undergraduate Majors – two contrasting selections chosen from different genres. Remember to display your passion and strongest talent, as these ensemble selections are based on talent level. Video submissions provide an opportunity to prepare your best material.

Callbacks are up to the discretion of each ensemble director(s). If chosen, you will be notified in advance and given specific requirements and selections to prepare.

Video Submissions approved upon request.

After confirming your eligibility for video submission with your Auditions Coordinator, record yourself fulfilling the appropriate audition requirements based on the requirements listed. Once you’ve completed your recording, upload your video to YouTube. If you do not wish for your video to be public, you may mark your video as “unlisted.” However, we ask that you do not make it “private” because we will not be able to view it.

After recording your audition materials, follow the directions provided for you in your eligibility confirmation email.

For any further questions about video submissions, please contact Kaelyn Floyd at [email protected].
