The Master of Music in Piano Performance is designed to be a twenty-first century degree to train students to become professional pianists in a collaborative and cross-training environment. This degree will prepare you to go directly into a professional pianist career.

  • Ensemble Participation
    • Students are required to participate in four (4) consecutive semesters of MUE 564 Piano Ensemble.
    • Students will be required to study and perform with chamber ensembles, quartets, trios, and ensembles as chosen by the professor including opera workshop, choir, or jazz ensemble.

Applied Music Requirements

  • MUA 535 Graduate Applied Piano (4 consecutive semesters)
  • MUA 543 Graduate Collaborative Piano (4 consecutive semesters)

Step 1: Apply to UM

The University of Mobile and the Alabama School of the Arts require all students to submit an admission application before auditioning.

Step 2: Audition

Fill out the interest form today to begin and schedule your audition. Auditions may be scheduled weekly (Monday-Thursday) for the student upon approval from the ASOTA office.
