The Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling program at the University of Mobile provides you with:

  • An education that integrates classic and evidence-based theories and approaches with Biblical principles and Christian worldview
  • The opportunity to learn from faculty who have taught and counseled in various professional settings
  • A small classroom experience where you will receive personal attention from your professors

A small number of MAMFC courses are offered online. However, the majority of the courses for this program are delivered in a traditional 16-week semester format on campus. Each of these classes meets one night per week for three hours. The degree can be completed in as few as seven to eight consecutive semesters (including summers), depending on your enrollment date, with most students finishing in about three years.

The MAMFC is also recognized as CACREP-equivalent by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling and is accepted by ABEC as meeting the education requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor credential in the State of Alabama.

Graduates of our program have gone on to acquire the LMFT, LPC, and related licenses in other states, as well.
