Sociology

The Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Sociology prepares students for graduate school and for a broad career path focused on social theory, research method, statistics and human diversity. A major in Sociology will give you insight into society, group life, values and social change.

Bachelor of Arts or Science in Sociology

Whether it is culture, family, education or religion that interests you, a major in Sociology will give you the opportunity and ability to critically engage with your interests and develop intellectually and academically.

Sociology majors may choose from two concentrations for a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in sociology.

Integrated 5-year Master of Science in Social Work

The integrated 5-year Master of Science in Social Work is a 5-year fast-track program offered in partnership with Samford University in which students complete three years at the University of Mobile followed by two years at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Students may attend Samford courses entirely online, on the Samford campus face-to-face, or through a combination of the two options.

Graduates in the integrated 5-year Master of Science in Social Work earn two degrees:
• Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Mobile
• Master of Social Work from Samford University
