Job Summary:
The Director of Physical Plant Operations is a key member of the Vice President for Business Affairs (CFO) division, responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the Physical Plant operations. The director ensures that physical plant operations and staff support the organization’s goals effectively and securely, enabling innovation, growth, and operational excellence.
Job Description:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Supports Statement of Christian Affirmation (https://umobile.edu/about/mission/).
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of maintenance and physical plant initiatives.
- Ability to set goals and timelines for projects
- Strong knowledge of renovations, construction and campus planning
- 3-5 years’ experience managing a maintenance, custodial, and or groundskeeping crew
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 10 years of leadership experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, and/or custodial services.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the Imago Dei of Christ (Gen 1:26) in all aspects of one’s professional role, personal interactions and community relations.
- Coordinates the cleaning and maintenance of various facilities across campus
- Supervises groundskeeping staff
- Plans and supervises all renovations and construction projects
- Serves as coordinator of campus planning and campus safety
- Supervises campus safety
- Obtains bids from outside contractors
- Supervises outside contractors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership, faculty, staff and students
- Advise the Vice President and other members of the leadership team on matters relating to maintenance and construction projects
- Fulfills additional responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President
