Instructor/Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics

The University of Mobile Grace Pilot School of Business invites applications for a full-time/tenure-track Instructor or Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics position to begin August 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate lecture courses in Fianance and Economics based on the needs of the Grace Pilot School of Business. Other tasks include preparation of course materials and assignments, serving as academic advisor to students as assigned, engaging in curriculum review and development, and coordinating internships for students. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention and experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) are also required.

This position will be a full-time, 9-month appointment. The university academic curriculum is based on a four-day week. Some programmatic activities require some evenings and Friday coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Earned Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Finance/Economics or related field
  • Required: Master’s degree in Finance/Economics or related field
  • Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience
