SCHOOL OF NURSING PROGRAM

Family Nurse Practitioner

The University of Mobile School of Nursing in the College of Health Professions offers a faith-based Family Nurse Practitioner program that prepares nurses at the master’s level as advanced practice nurses. Our program equips nurses with a solid knowledge base combined with clinical expertise required to practice as FNPs. Students discover how to broaden their scope of practice, provide holistic care to patients across the lifespan, and work in diverse clinical environments.

Master of Science in Nursing — Family Nurse Practitioner

Master of Science in Nursing — Family Nurse Practitioner

As family nurse practitioners, graduates will be prepared to initiate and manage patient treatment plans, diagnose and prescribe medications, focus on disease prevention and health management, and improve patients’ lives within their community.

The Family Nurse Practitioner will be prepared to promote the health and education of patients who may be encountered as individuals, groups and/or families. Students will experience an online program with on-campus intensives interspersed throughout the program, allowing students an opportunity to be face-to-face with faculty and network with other nursing professionals. The FNP program provides cutting-edge simulation and technology to develop clinical expertise in the new Center for Excellence in Healthcare Practice.

Career prospects are excellent for Family Nurse Practitioners, as health care is among the fastest-growing professions in the nation.
