Gain qualification for career advancement opportunities while expanding the reach of your current music academic program. The Master of Music in Music Education (non-certification) with Alabama School of the Arts is designed to support both part-time and full-time in-service music educators with professional graduate training in a Christ-centered environment. As a graduate of the MM in Music Ed (non-certification) degree, you will also be prepared to continue toward doctoral programs in music education. The MM in Music Ed program is approved by the National Association of Schools of Music and is pending SACSCOC approval.

Step 1: Apply to UM

The University of Mobile and the Alabama School of the Arts require all students to submit an admission application before auditioning.

Step 2: Audition

Fill out the interest form today to begin and schedule your audition. Auditions may be scheduled weekly (Monday-Thursday) for the student upon approval from the ASOTA office.

Stephanie Archer earned her PhD in piano pedagogy from Florida State University in 2023, following degrees from the University of Mobile and Louisiana State University. A Nationally Certified Teacher of Music and active member of MTNA and NFMC, she has held numerous leadership roles and was president of the award-winning MTNA collegiate chapter at FSU. Archer frequently presents at national and international conferences, with research focusing on injury prevention, musician wellness, and effective teaching strategies for beginners.
