Theatre Summer Camp

The Alabama School of the Arts Summer Theatre Camp is designed for rising 8th grade – 12th grade students who are passionate about performing and ready to grow in their craft.

Spend a week training with experienced instructors in acting, singing, and dance while collaborating with other dedicated young artists. Through hands-on workshops and rehearsals, campers will strengthen their performance skills, build confidence, and develop tools that will serve them on any stage.

Perform In A Showcase

Perform In A Showcase

All campers will participate in a final Showcase Performance at the end of the week. Rehearsals for the showcase will be incorporated throughout the camp experience.

Camp Details

What are the camp dates?

June 15–19, 2026

Who can attend?

Rising 8th grade – 12th grade students.

What is the cost?

$300 Total Registration

Includes:

• $50 non-refundable registration fee

• Summer Theatre Camp T-Shirt

• Class materials

• Showcase participation and materials

• Dinner party before the final showcase

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes. We offer a 10% discount for siblings.


What do participants need to bring?

Participants must provide the following:

• 3-ring binder with paper (or separate notebook) for notes, sheet music, scenes, make-up plots, and other materials

• Pencil, pens, and highlighters

• Personal eye makeup (simple black eyeliner) for make-up workshops
(Foundation, contour, sponges, make-up wands, etc. will be provided.)

• Umbrella or raincoat in case of rain (campers will travel between buildings)

Actors will participate in dance workshops and will perform in the final showcase. If you have jazz or ballet slippers, feel free to bring them for dance class.


Is there an audition requirement?

Yes.

Once registered, campers must submit a video audition performing:

A 1-minute monologue and/or a 1-minute song of their choosing

This video will be used for casting in the final showcase. No prior theatre experience is required — this camp is designed for students of all experience levels.
