Our Mission: Through Data, Design & Delivery, we will foster a university-wide marketing mindset, create innovative products and tell compelling stories to amplify the mission of the University of Mobile.

The Office for Marketing and Public Relations promotes the mission and identity of the University of Mobile through strategic initiatives designed to enhance the image, recruitment and development efforts of the university. Accomplishments include, but are not limited to:

  • Increased regional and national advertising efforts
  • Established and continued vibrant presence of social media sites
  • Created and executed nationally recognized Project Serve event
  • Implemented new technology for enhanced communication
  • Increased local, regional and national media coverage
  • Created the University of Mobile Torchlight Magazine
  • Increased monthly unique visitors to university website by over 1600%
  • Redesigned University of Mobile website
  • Developed, produced and maintained digital content site
  • Numerous national awards for print and online design, campaigns, writing, video

Lesa Moore
Vice President for Marketing & Public Relations


Lesa has over 25 years experience in marketing and public relations including the high-tech industry, retail marketing and higher education. Numerous local and national advertising, PR and design awards have been achieved under her direction. Lesa received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of South Alabama and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Mobile. She enjoyed a successful career as Director of Marketing Communications at Xante Corporation before joining the UMobile staff in 2002. She serves as Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations as well as instructor in marketing at UM, and is a member of the American Marketing Association, Public Relations Council of Alabama and Baptist Communicators Association. Lesa lives in Mobile with her husband and high school sweetheart, Jay. They have two children, UM graduate Logan and current UM student Olivia. She is an active member and volunteer at Cottage Hill Baptist Church.

Kathy Dean
Associate Vice President for University Communications


Kathy is an award-winning public relations professional and former journalist with a strong background in strategic communications, feature writing/story-telling, copywriting and editing. She joined the University of Mobile staff in 1993 and has earned awards for writing, public relations and advertising, including twice receiving the grand prize for feature writing from the Baptist Communicators Association. She serves on the board of the John M. Will Scholarship Foundation, awarding scholarships to promising student journalists; and is a member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama, Baptist Communicators Association and Society of Professional Journalists. Kathy lives in Daphne with her husband, Chuck, who earned his M.B.A. from University of Mobile. They have two children and two grandchildren.

Heath Vester
Assistant Vice President for Creative Services


Heath Vester is an experienced graphic designer and serves as the Assistant Vice President for Creative Services for the University of Mobile’s Office of Marketing & Public Relations. He is an alumnus of the University of Mobile, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and a Master of Science in Leadership and Communication. Beyond his role at the university, Heath is the owner of Heath Vester Creative, his freelance company where he provides a wide variety of creative services to individuals and organizations.

Amanda Pritchard
Graphic Designer

Amanda is a multi-talented graphic designer who has worked in printing, technology, fashion and higher education. She has extensive experience in print media, pre-press, web design, web marketing, illustration and art direction. An award-winning designer, Amanda is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and is a member of the national graphic design association AIGA and Baptist Communicators Association. Through her successful freelance business, Alabama Marmalade, she donates design work to local non-profits. Amanda volunteers with the Mobile Police Department Mounted Auxiliary and serves at Sonrise Baptist Church, where her husband, Matt, is worship pastor.

Amanda Pritchard
Photographer & Videographer


Rovy Lopez is the videographer and photographer in the Office for Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Mobile. He is an experienced event and documentary filmmaker and a published photographer. He also serves as the associate pastor at Cross Culture Church in Mobile and runs his freelance business, RL Films.

Cindy Bruns
Project Manager


Noah Walters is the project manager in the Office for Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Mobile, where he is a full-time student in the School of Business. He is pursuing both a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications and a Master of Business Administration through the integrated 5-year MBA program.  He loves playing disc golf on campus with friends. Noah says if he had lived in a previous century, he would have wanted to work on a ship traveling the world.

Emily Deal
Social Media Manager & Content Creator


Emily Deal is the social media manager and content creator for the marketing and public relations office at the University of Mobile. Emily's background is in advertising where she solidified her skills in design, quality assurance, and art direction. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in graphic design from UM in 2016. She is a devoted member of Mars Hill Church where she volunteers with the children's ministry most Sundays. Some of her favorite things are wildflowers, live music, and, most importantly, dogs.

Emily Deal
Content Creator

Molly Grace Watkins is the Content Creator for the Office for Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Mobile. She is a full-time student in the College of Arts and Sciences, where she is pursuing a degree in Communication with a concentration in Journalism and Broadcasting. A published author, Molly Grace loves writing and being in front of the camera. She is an active member and volunteer at Cottage Hill Baptist Church. She also enjoys listening to music, going on long walks and driving her friends around in her blue MINI Cooper.

Emily Deal
Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing


Kellie Cavallaro is the Assistant to the Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Mobile. Kellie is a graduate of Liberty University, where she earned a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Arts and Digital Design and a Master of Science in Social Media Management. Kellie and her husband, Kelly, own a Media Production company where they have been featured both nationally and internationally in a wide range of venues. She enjoys spending time with friends at dance conventions.
