Professor of Marketing

University of Mobile is seeking a dynamic individual for a full-time, 9 month, tenure-track position to teach courses in Marketing.  The candidate should have an earned doctoral degree (ABDs considered) and a desire for service/research.  Responsibilities include teaching courses, mentoring students, and participating in service to the University.  The School of Business at University of Mobile seeks to embark on a student-devoted development process that engages the mind and spirit in a Christ-centered environment, utilizing forward-leaning business theory and practice that prepares one for a lifetime of professional service.  We currently offer an MBA program for graduate students and at the undergraduate level majors include accounting, business administration, integrated marketing communications, and management, with two new programs under review.  Concentrations within the School of Business currently include finance, with the possible addition of other programs beginning in Fall 2019.  Our average class size is 14 students, thus creating an opportunity for faculty to serve in both a teaching and mentoring role for the students.  The School of Business has a new and active Advisory Council that is working to better connect student experience in the work community through mentorship, internships, and programming.  The programs of the School of Business at University of Mobile are accredited by ACBSP.

Job Description: 

The Residential Life Area Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month, live-in professional staff member of the Office of Student Life at the University of Mobile. The Residential Life Area Coordinator reports to the Director of Residential Life overseeing assigned student residential areas and ensuring an excellent residential experience in line with the mission of the University of Mobile. 

Duties include: 1) overseeing, budgeting, and facilitating multiple assigned residential facilities, 2) developing, investing in, and supervising Resident Coordinators, Resident Assistants, Work Studies, and residential students for the purpose of leadership development, spiritual formation, and service to the campus community, 3) ensuring the adequate operation of all security, maintenance, and emergency alert systems, 4) understanding, maintaining, and implementing student discipline procedures in accordance with the student handbook, 5) assuming various responsibilities as assigned for summer camps.

The Residential Life Area Coordinator exists to provide an excellent student experience in residential living.  This is accomplished through intentional mentoring, influence and impact on the University of Mobile student body.  They will intentionally engage in the lives of current students in an effort to enhance their total experience at the University of Mobile.  They will also seek opportunities to help students make wise decisions while in college and for the future.

Assist Admissions with data processing and various other office duties.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Gathering Admissions’ mail from the mailroom
  • Processing mail: scanning documents; uploading to the computer filing system; determining classification of students based off of transcript information; and filing/ shredding documents.
  • Maintaining Admissions’ prospective student filing cabinet
  • Monitoring/ updating applied students’ immunization records
  • Monitoring documents for recently applied students
  • Inputting student information into Jenzabar and Radius computer systems
  • Any other responsibilities and tasks assigned by Admissions Processors
